When we discuss the energy our inland fleet utilizes, our priority is fuel efficiency and reducing harmful emissions. Sallaum Logistics is committed to operating a modern, Euro-compliant fleet. Utilizing advanced Mercedes-Benz Actros units paired with specialized LOHR trailers, we meet strict European regulatory emission standards. As we scale toward our target of 300 owned trucks by 2030, our procurement strategy ensures that every new unit aligns with our annual plans for energy conservation and lowered environmental impact.
Route Optimization and Telematics
To maximize efficiency and minimize our carbon footprint, we rely heavily on advanced technology. Our fleet is equipped with sophisticated fleet telematics and GPS tracking systems:

By exploring modular, containerized energy solutions featuring high-capacity batteries and inverters—such as the NovaVolt PowerPod project—we aim to secure reliable, green charging capabilities for our future electric fleet.
Furthermore, our strategic hub at the Port of Antwerp benefits from local renewable energy sources. The port houses the largest wind farm on the Belgian mainland, allowing our vehicle processing and staging operations to utilize clean wind energy.
Strict Preventive Maintenance and Waste Management Sustainable inland development requires disciplined fleet maintenance and careful waste management. Our operations prioritize strict preventive maintenance to ensure performance and continuous emissions control. At our Port of Antwerp facility, vehicle processing and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) procedures include the responsible handling and recycling of maintenance waste, such as tires, oils, and mechanical components.
